2013Republic_day

Dear all,
Welcome.
Today is the Republic day of India, wherein it adopted the Constitution & became a Sovereign, Socialist & Democratic Republic.
USA Embassy had issued a statement upon the sentence of Lashkar terrorist, David Headley that the sentence of 35 years of imprisonment had been stricter. After his cooperation with the USA govt., he had provided relevant information. Also, after his cooperation with the other agencies too, it was decided not to ask for death penalty.
A Senator told that prosecution had asked sufficient sentence. Also, his friend, Rana, had got sentence of fourteen years of imprisonment. Besides, information about Illiyas Kashmiri was also provided by them. Headley had also replied to Indian investigators. He had helped in fixation of charges against five terrorists.
Also, Senate Intelligence committee's Chairman told that he had witnessed the trial and he believes that the sufficient sentence was also demanded. US also cited about the FBI's providing information to India in fight against terrorism.
The Clean Sports India(CSI) had objected to holding of Asian Athletics Association(AAA) executive council under the Presidentship of Suresh Kalmadi. As per CSI, it would be a violation of IOC directives. CSI Head told that it is ridiculous that AAA Secretary doesn't about the CWG scam. CSI Coordinator told that they would raise the issue along with the IOC. Despite Kalmadi & Lalit Bhanot not being holding any Official post, they are taking decision about Indian athletics.
LoC: The Pakistan's Tahrik-e-Insaaf Party Head, Imran Khan, believes that tension at the Line of Control (LoC) had affected the peace talks amongst India & Pakistan. The Army cannot be a solution for bilateral relations. Both Countries could find solution through talks only. The incident on ceasefire had been told as "Unfortunate" by him. He also told Media to observe more restraint. He was speaking after the World Economic Forum meet.
In the continuing Jaipur Literature festival, yesterday a debate amongst Dalit writer & Javed Akhtar had involved tough arguments. The issue was "God as a Political philosopher; Dalit perspective on Buddhism". Professor K.Illaiah told that secularism could come through the thoughts of Buddha. Any Dalit could become "Father" in Christian community, could touch "Granth Sahib" in Sikh community, or go to mosque but it is not possible in Hindu community. He told that talking on religion is like asking which cave is better to inhabit? Javed Akhtar told that he had remained secular & apparently that no religion had been giving equality to weaker section of society.
Professor commented indirectly that real life is apparently different from the celluloid or reel life. As per him, Indian Buddhists have more knowledge than all the intellectuals. Javed Akhtar took the issue in his lecture stating that all religions should be based upon justice. When the picture is shown, it tells about life. But as per Professor, he alone could be atheist but not the entire world.
Also, Senior Actress, Shabani Azmi, told that womens have been presented as "Item numbers" in the film songs. Speaking upon "Sex & Sensibility" she told that any actress should take full information about the song lyrics & then decided for acceptance. There is a difference between fight for respect & marketization.

GPS&Sedan

Dear all,
Welcome.
Have you ever got clue of how GPS could have effect in your life? Past March 2011 Tsunami at Japan had moved island 200 mtr from it's original position as was recorded in the nearest GPS station.
China would soon test its Anti-Satellite weapon. It is supposed to pose danger to USA's Global Positioning System. However, China's govt. news agency claimed that it is China's right to test it. The ASAT would make China ahead.
Earlier, US media reports suggested that China may conduct such test. China had tested ASAT earlier during 2007 & 2011 on Jan 11. However, the nature of type of test is still unknown.
India had also raised concern over the issue.Indian defence officials claimed that India should also acquire such capability. Also, Scientists at Cambridge stated that it would increase concerns worldwide.

As per China, USAs strategists concerns are uncalled for as it is not being tested for damaging any satellite. China is developing a technique which would deactivate satellite after its life span is over. Earlier, China & Russia had made a programme in 2008. ASAT would be China's triumph card and no other country would think of competing in Space technology.
It is to note that China had recently tested its Wide Navigation Satellite System (VDS). It is being used by China's ministry & Army. 20 additional satellites are planned for launching.
As per US officials, China's test range would increase striking capability upto 12,000 kms. As per Space.com, it can cause damage to the GPS.

Earlier, such tests were banned by USA & USSR.
